So lately I haven't really been exercising since I'm over my head with homework and meetings (yay for AP classes and Key Club!), but this past Monday I didn't have as much to do so I went to my first Túmba class! For all of you that don't know what Túmba is, it's a toning dance fitness class. At first I didn't know if I was going to like Túmba because it sounded like Zumba and I'm not really into that type of exercise but I went and gave it a try anyway. I'm glad I did because I loved it! The instructor was great and so were the new hit songs being played in the background. There's not too much dancing but it's just enough and trust me, you sweat, A LOT! It's not SUPER demanding and the good thing is that you can work at your own pace. The class I went to was for arms, chest, and back. I'm hoping to go again on a Wednesday for a butt and legs workout! I'll let you know how it goes... When you go to your first Túmba class don't forget to bring a bottle of water, a yoga mat, a towel, and some weights! See you there!
Túmba tips:
1. Take a beginners class even if you've done something like Túmba before because every instructor and workout is different.
2. Don't forget to take water breaks!
3. Make sure that your weights aren't too light where you don't work anything out or too heavy where you can't hold them over your head for a few seconds.
4. Don't try to do everything exactly like the teacher because, let's face it, she is the teacher and she's probably been doing it longer than you and is better at it. (Don't worry, you'll get there!)
5. Have fun!
